As reported by Fairfield’s Hamlet Hub (which deserves the photo credit for the above image),  Fairfield resident Jeffrey Taylor received special recognition from First Selectman Mike Tetreau and Selectmen Bateson and Tymniak for the Connecticut Trust Award of Merit he received for his efforts in restoring the Greenfield Hill Cemetery.

Since 2016 volunteers have been restoring the cemetery, the resting place of early settlers, Revolutionary War soldiers, and community leaders. Together they have cleaned, restored, and re-set 300 of the cemetery’s 900 gravestones, which can weigh between 160 and 1,000 pounds.

Congratulations to Jeff and to all of the winners!
